Our Christmas Story
We had a wonderful Christmas time! Our month was busy with parties, get togethers, and all the great traditions we love. We always love going to the Palmer's home for their annual Candy-cane making party. The kids love to create different shapes with their candy canes (and the parents love the good food!). Megan's sing and dance group had their Christmas performance. We were shocked when Megan sang a solo. I couldn't believe my little five year old girl would sing into a microphone in front of a crowd. She was amazing! In fact, I forgot to snap a picture of her singing. We love to hear her sing! Speaking of singing, I have a new favorite tradition that has been added to our list this year. Megan's school does a Christmas caroling concert each year. One night before school is out, each grade level learns a couple of Christmas songs. They then travel to three different locations outside the school to sing to the parents. So fun! We also love to drive through the neighborhoods, sipping hot chocolate and looking at all the Christmas lights. There is one street here that everyone goes overboard. We drive through that street many times during the season. And lets not forget decorating gingerbread.
We celebrated Little Christmas Eve at my sister's home. We did our Christmas program that night along with a few Norwegian Christmas carols. On Christmas Eve, we went back to Kristin's for dinner and a Christmas movie in our new jammies. After opening presents, Kristin's family came to our house for breakfast Christmas morning. We then went to Scott's parents home for Christmas dinner and spent time playing with the Huber cousins.
Santa even made it to our house. He brought Brookie a new swing, Josh a plasma car, Megan a karaoke machine, Debbie a digital picture frame key chain (that's a mouthful), and Scott got a remote control helicopter (boys never get to old for new toys - in fact he had the biggest smile while flying it around the house). Some of our favorite gifts were chew toys for Brookie, cars and tools and trains for Josh, and all the High School Musical dolls for Meg. You can even catch her singing karaoke in her Gabriella dress up clothes.
Now our days are spent playing the new games we got on the Wii. You can often catch Scott rocking out to Guitar Hero III. He'll even let the kids strum along - that is if he can get Megan to stop singing High School Musical. And my arms are sore from trying to unlock all my friends on Dancing with the Stars. We've been spending so much time in the playroom that we even made a splurge and bought a loveseat. I couldn't sit on the tiny chairs and table any longer. A girl needs a place to relax while she's watching her husband rock on. It's nice to have an RC Willey and RC Willey outlet here. It's a little home away from home for your home.

How fun! I love your pictures and hearing your traditions. We still do the gingerbread houses too. I think that will stick forever. I would ask you to do my laundry but I don't know how to get it down to you. Scott...thanks for taking such good care of Debbie. Love you all!
