For two years Josh and I had a routine each morning. We would drop Megan off at preschool and then the two of us would go straight to the gym. He loved playing at the gym. I loved exercising.
And then a year ago, Brooklyn entered the picture. From too young of an age, Brooklyn decided it's not fun to be away from mom. Endearing at times, frustrating at times. We have tried going to the gym only twice with Brooklyn. Both times were more work than exercising. It was awful...for me, for Brooklyn, and for the poor people in the child care rooms. So I've had to be more creative with working out. I tried going at night when Scott's home (too tired), I was successful for about six months going before the sun was up (way too early), and I've tried just not going at all (unfortunately I'm most successful at this).
Well now Josh is the one who gets to go to preschool. Yesterday when I picked him up, he informed me that he doesn't like going to the "blue house preschool" (yes the house is painted blue). I said, sure you do. He said, I don't like that blue house preschool. I said, you love Miss Jenn. He said, no I don't. I said, you were so excited to go to school. He said, well I don't like that school now. And then it hit me...
Me: Is it because you have to be quiet at school?
Josh: Yeeeesss! (frustration in his voice)
Me: Do you have to sit still?
Josh: Yeeesss!
Me: Did you get in trouble?
Josh: Yeeesss!
Poor guy, but I'm more than happy to pay someone to teach him to be quiet. I've tried it all. It hasn't worked for me. Even sitting in church, the kid can't whisper. Then when I ask him to not talk at all, I get sound effects from him (just as loud as if he were talking).
So today I got a phone call from the high school asking if I could pick up my nephew Eirik who was sick. As we were driving to the school, we drove right by the gym. Josh spotted it from a far and said:
"Mom that's my school! That's the school I want to go to! I need to go be with my people."
Who's child is this? First he tells me no more kissing. Now I find out he's got "people".

That was way cute. I love that he has people!
Hey, we just had one of our ym come to Roseville on a mission. Hi name is Nick Waechtler. Just in case you ever come across him....
Thats funny! We hope we are included in "his people" sounds like its a tough group to get into!
Beofer you know it Josh will have his own little entourage! Give a shout out to his "peeps" for me. :)
I meant "before" not beofer...
And can we blame him. So much more fun at the gym running around, playing on the playground, being as loud as you want to. It's all encouraged.
I have a funny feeling school might always be a battle with him. It won't be for the academic, but the structure and rules.
That is so Josh. He could be on the comcast commercial where they have a whole entourage of people following them around.
seriously, that is so funny and I can hear him saying that.
Well, there is nothing left to do other than renounce the public education system and enroll him as a student at the gym full time.
I'm sure he'd give you a few kisses in exchange for an education plan such as that.
