We Jumped in a Lake

My sister Kristin invited us to go boating with her family.  I was going to go with the kids, but at the last minute, we talked Scott into taking part of the day off.  I'm so glad he came.  We had such a good time.
We decide to try out a lake that is half way between here and Lake Tahoe.  It was a quick 30-40 minute drive up the mountain.  For the first half of the day, we saw two other boats.  It was perfect for wakeboarding.  After we stopped for lunch, the wind picked up and the lake had many more boats on it.  It was great for the tube.
This is part of the crew: Brookie, Scott, Josh (leaning against Scott), Meg, Eirik, Brandon, and Espen.
Josh was so excited to go on the boat.  This was his first time out this summer and we didn't go last summer because I was due with Brooklyn.  As soon as the boat started (after we were out of the no wake zone) he spent the next 15-20 minutes crying that he wanted to go back to the sidewalk.  It probably didn't help that when we made our first stop, everyone was jumping in while the first wakeboarder got ready.  Scott was out in the water.  I decided to just pick Josh up and throw him in the water to Scott.  It's okay, he forgave me later.
That's my Scottie on the wakeboard!
Ya, that's me.  I'm cool!  But I'm paying the price for being cool.  I am so sore.  My muscles are just aching sitting here looking at the picture.
And little Miss Meggie had her turn too.  We have to work on her holding on.  She pops right up but then decides she's done and just lets go of the rope.  Little stinker!  We'll get her.
We stopped for lunch and let the kids play.
After lunch, we all took turns hanging on for dear life while Haavard did his best to dump us, or at least give us a good scare.
Thanks Uncle Haavard and Aunt Kristin!  We had such a great day together!

That looks like so much fun!! Between the move and school starting so early we missed out on our usual waterski trips. You are a stud for wake boarding!

I'm impressed with your wakeboarding skills! Brookie looks so cute in her tutu. I still can't believe that she is 1.
