A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words

Take a good look at this picture because it sums up a very funny story...

On Sunday evening, we were out in the backyard. As it was getting dark, we went inside for our traditional ice scream Sundaes on Sunday.

I dished up ice cream for Brooklyn and Josh. I couldn't find Megan to ask her what she wanted. I finally found her outside. When we came inside, the girl next door peeked her head over the fence and Megan went to talk to her.

I told Megan to come in for her ice cream and she was literally frozen. When I asked her what was wrong, she pointed below her.

Megan was standing in the fort on the swing set. Underneath her, on the picnic table was a cat. Not our cat. We don't own pets...for this very reason. Megan is terrified of anything that doesn't resemble a human. A neighborhood cat was walking along the fence while she was talking to the neighbor. The cat then decided to hop down into our yard. Megan's fears kicked into high gear.

I walked outside to try to talk her into coming down. As I was talking to her (and it was completely dark outside at this time), she suddenly screamed and came flying down the slide so fast I don't think she actually touched the slide.

While she was focused on me talking to her, the cat climbed up the ladder and was standing next to her. That's what sent her flying. She had looked down to find the cat at her feet.

I tried to calm her down (in between my laughing) once we were inside.

On Monday morning, the cat was still in our backyard.

And this is what our home looked like.

I have three children adoring the cat through the window.

And Megan has her back to the cat and has immersed herself into a book. She refused to even look at the cat.

This photo will always make me smile!

Can you hear me laughing so hard I'm crying. This picture is hilarious. I think she inherited her fear of cats...I don't know why but I am also afraid of cats. I really don't know why. This will be a funny memory and the picture says everything!!!!
