My little girl started second grade today. It's a weird feeling for me. I taught second grade for my first four years of teaching. I loved those kids. To me, it was the perfect age. And now, I had one of my own to donate to the school system this year.

We started getting ready for this day by having a special dinner last night. Megan got to choose what we were having for dinner. Her choice: pizza on the grill. We ate outside (finally a coolER night), let the kids play, and then bathed them all up. Scott then gave Meg and Josh very sweet Father's blessings and we finished the night up with Strawberry Shortcake.
This morning we made pancakes for breakfast. Again, Meg's choice. Notice in the picture that she is wearing her school bag while eating breakfast. She was a little anxious. Then we made the trip to drop her off at school together as a family.

Josh wanted to just watch me take pictures. He didn't want to join the girls. He wasn't too thrilled with me when he noticed I took a picture of him "just watching".

The front gate opened and Megan was off...

We had to search and found her on the playground. We kept our distance and let her enjoy the thrill of being back in school.
Megan's second grade teacher, Mrs. Chadwell.
Megan loves her already.
And Megan's sweet friend, Hannah, is also in the class. Yeah!
