Yes, we're in trouble. My daughter has figured out how to open doors. Whoever invented the doorknobs with long handles never had a small child, I'm convinced. It took me a little while to convince myself that she figured it out, but she did it.
I was getting ready the other morning. I had just gotten out of the shower and went to see where Brooklyn was. She was in the other bathroom. I moved her out of the bathroom and shut the door.
I went back to getting ready. About five minutes later I went to peek on her. She was back in the other bathroom. I thought to myself that I must not have shut the door tight. So I brought her out of the bathroom and this time checked to make sure the door was shut tight. Everything was secure.
I went back to blow drying my hair and getting lost in thought. I then realized that I hadn't heard from Brooklyn in a while and it was awfully quiet. I went to check on her again and the above picture is what I found. Although, what you can't see are the small elastic bands all over the floor that she dumped, along with the basket of barrettes scattered on the floor. She discovered the basket of headbands and was wearing three of them like a necklace. Needless to say, the bathroom door now gets locked during my shower time.
I now have a lock on the pantry door to keep me from looking for canned food hidden around the house. It's almost like an Easter egg hunt at dinner time. You forget how busy these little ones keep you at this stage. I'm starting to cash in on nap time too!

She looks so proud of herself. Love the headbands around her neck. What's the black case I see in the foreground. You know when they're quiet that means trouble. I'm so excited to see your cute little family Christmas week.
That picture is priceless!
She is so cute. I am not looking forward to that stage at all. I finally have Addie trained and I'm not ready to have to train another. :)
Are you coming to moms over Christmas break?
Mom, the black case is my small attempt to cut my sons hair. It has the hair clippers in it.
D - we're still up in the air about Christmas. It all depends on the weather and driving through the Sierras. I am dying to come and see your girls and Sheri's kids. Plus, Scott and I just realized that we haven't seen Nick since before you left for med school. It's been about five years. If we come, we'll come after Christmas day and stay through New Years.
Becky and Brooke, we WANT to see your boys too! I'm not counting out your importance. We love your Utah genes too!
Um, yeah you better be glad you added that last comment because I was reading through and was like, "HOW RUDE!" no one ever comes to see us..its because other people are coming. (that sounded like Stephanie on Full house....can you hear the back ground music?!?!?!..must be five minutes to ending the show)
Um, Brookie is cute and she can come mess up my drawers anyday!!
