The first time it was only on his hand. He felt great the next day and was pretty much back to normal right after. He was expecting the same thing with the second surgery. We were not anticipating him waking up with a cast past his elbow.
Apparently when the hand surgeon went into locate the nerve (this is all amazing to me that they can even locate a nerve), his nerve forked which is quite unusual. So he had to follow the nerve up his arm to alleviate the pain he's been feeling. So he is now sporting two new incisions up his arm.
He's in quite a bit of pain. We rebelled and cut his cast. (It's only hard on the bottom part and soft on the top part). Scott was curious to see what it all looked like. Last night we took it off for a second time so he could put ice directly on his arm. This is what it looked like. No wonder he's in pain. My poor baby got man handled. It looks like you can see finger marks.
