Joshie's Big Day

So today was the big day...Josh's first day of preschool.  Scott met us there so we could send him off with a whole bunch of love.  It lasted a maximum of 20 seconds.  We had to block him from running inside so I could quickly get a picture.  And that's all I got...one picture.  However, when I went to pick him up, he said he was upset with me for leaving.

Josh and Miss Jenn

With Megan and Josh off to school and Brooklyn down for a nap, I actually had time to myself.  Silence in my home...no television in the background, no asking for treats, no crying, no arguing (yes that happens here).  It was peaceful!  I would like to say that I spent those hours reading a book, but it's amazing how fast the time went by.  It was filled with bed making, laundry, breakfast dishes, which then led to organizing the desk, the bathroom, the kitchen corner (you know the corner that gets everything stashed because you're not quite sure where to put it).  Of course this was interspersed with a nice telephone conversation with a good friend.  Next time I'll read that book...

We picked Josh up with a great big smile.  He loved it.  But you should see these little babies in his class.  We were a few minutes late this morning because Megan's school starts at the same time.  Scott was there and told me the kids walking in were tiny.  I have to remember that Josh is almost four and we're planning on keeping him back (California has a crazy cutoff date of Dec 1).  Scott wasn't kidding.  I saw the tiniest little creatures coming out of preschool.  Some of them were still 2 because they'll turn 3 this fall.  I hope he's nice to them.  We went straight to daddy's office to report on the first day.  Daddy took us to lunch.  That was nice!

He looks so big! I can't believe there are 2 year olds in preschool with him. I'm dying that I have to start Addie next year.
