Go Meg!

Megan had her end of the season soccer party tonight. I can't believe that she's already played her first year of soccer. They had an amazing year for their first experience. They have won every game (one more game to go on Saturday, I hope I don't jinx it). This team has been so aggressive, even Meg. She surprised us with how well she did for her first time playing.

At their party, as the coach gave them their trophy, he said something special about each child. About Megan, he said that she was such a quiet person...until she's on the field. She's so aggressive and shows no fear, except when she hears thunder. Side story here: At two different practices, there was thunder. As soon as Megan heard the thunder, she decided it was time to run home (we practiced at the park behind our house). Three times she told the coach that it was time to call practice: twice for thunder and once when it started to get dark after the time change. She's not afraid to take care of herself.

Megan loved playing goalie. It always made me so nervous. I would go stand down towards the goal. One time I was saying from the side, "Get ready Meg, here they come." Finally she turned towards me and said, "Mom, I'm watching the ball." I said, "That's great! Way to go, sweetie." And she replied, "So you don't need to tell me when they're coming. I know." And you know what, she did a great job on her own. I just found myself enjoying the game more when I could cheer for a goal rather than be worried that a goal could be scored on her.

Way to go on a great season Meg! We sure had fun watching and cheering for you! We look forward to next year.

That's not embarrassing, that's called intimidation. It works I might add. What would be embarassing is if he went with his chest painted too.

Oh, did I not mention he paints his chest? Just kidding. By the way, I was just reading my blog. What the freakin heck is wrong with people you know? I feel bad that you did all that work and no one came. See, I made cookies for the book club blog, but fortunetly I just sit and eat them while I blog!!! PERFECT!!!
